Sometime in September of 2002 I received an email from a bloke that signed himself as 'A fair dinkum froggy cobber'. The text is below . . .
G'day

My name is Yves Fohlen.. I am a Froggy...and for almost 28 years I have been studying the Great War. I focused my study about the British and Australian war effort. I really feel to owe a debt of gratitude towards those who came from OZ...and suffered.. and gave their lives for my Freedom. I never miss an opportunity to visit a British cemetery.

As a professional battlefield guide.. I am used to welcome Australian pilgrims and also to help Australian historians...and for instance I was the guide of Major John Phelan and Lieut Col Michael Byrne 42nd AIF Bn...OFFICERS in the unit ..We spent a day in Picardy where the unit fought. IT WAS A VERY MOVING DAY. A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER they made me honorary member of the unit ASSOCIATION...so I am in touch with the association members in Rockhampton.

I am also used to guide and help Michael Goodwin and the Mackay's mob in their Remembrance trips. I am mentioned in their web site.

The 42nd Bn...was a great unit.. and I am used to visit the graves of those who gave their lives for my Liberty. I have at home several photos of their graves.. would you like to have them ?...Today I have been to Tincourt Boucly.. I have taken photos of the graves of those buried their. Please give me your snail mail address.. I shall forward them to you.
An other idea should be to take in photo the 42nd Bn battlefields ..today

Hope that you will be interested
Regards.. and congratulations for your excellent website.

I started an electronic conversation with him and things have gone on from there. He made certain offers which I accepted. Unfortunately I cannot put his stuff on this page. It is better placed on the page known as
